I really appreciate this thread - thanks!
Has anyone here seen the documentary "May I Be Frank?" in its entirety? It looks really good. I am thinking of buying it.

Thank you Nenuphar. You are welcome :)
I haven't see " May I Be Frank " in it's entirety but as you I think it's well worth buying.

Fantastic!
Dear Mudra,
I found this thread and am delighted with its wondeful content once more! I invested in a Vita Mix in 2007 when I gave raw foods a luke warm try for 6 months and lost weight but got sick with a mean cold. I figured this should not happen and dropped the regimen...how silly but I know better now that I was probably detoxing.
The smoothie looks great and the lasagna too. I juice once a day but found that the kale, chard or spinach was producing little juice and precious pulp was wasted IMHO...So now I juice and then transfer the juice to the VitaMix where I put in my greens and flaxseed and voila, I feel much better that I am getting all the nurients from the greens and the drink is delicious.
By the way, I am not too computer savvy but the video Fat, Sick and almost Dead is free to see as I put it on my favorites from another site. Maybe in your experitise you could find it and post it here. It really is an amazing journey and a testament to the miracle of juicing.
I love the chocolate pudding also as a mood lifter. I know she uses coconut water but I have found coconut milk and love it blended with frozen whole strawberries and a little stevia. Coconut milk is so good just plain.... I also have coconut oil as it is so good for memory, energy and helps burn fat...it looks like a fat but it really contains the omega fatties that we need and does not add weight...how about that?
Have you discovered raw crunchy almond butter? It is alkaline, and is so good for you with many nutrients and no chance of contamination like peanut butter, which is acid. I enjoy a couple of tablespoons when I feel hungry.
Thanks again for a wonderful thread.

Re: Raw Vegan Recipes
Dear Liberti it's great to see how much you seem to enjoy experimenting with raw food Liberti
I tried some of the recipes I posted myself and found them absolutely delicious .
My raw experience started a few years ago where I would take raw veges, nuts and fruits with no special preparation at all. Almost as they would come freshly from the soil or trees.
One was guided to what the body needed by simply smelling several items and eating the one that had the most gorgious perfume. This way it tasted delicious too. When the body had taken the nutrients it needed from it the taste would turn bad or insipid .It would'nt smell beautifull as before either . Then we would go and smell the items on the plate again and go the next that smelled wonderfull now and eat that one and so on . We had only two meals a day at lunch and in the evening. This was called instinctotherapy.I thoroughly enjoyed it and kept it for a year or so but due to the difficulties of adhering to it when we were invited for a dinner I gradually stopped this way of eating. To me it's been the best way of feeding myself. I felt great , very light , clear mind , peacefullness, sound sleep...
From this I kept however my love for raw food rather than cooked one . And if cooked not overcooked but lightly steamed except for grains.
These days I seem to sustain on very little. The less I eat the better I feel which is lovely too.
Love from me

Instinctotherapy
My Dear Mudra,
Thank you for sharing your experience with Instinctotherapy. Since I live alone I have been doing that to some degree. I shop for things I love such as fresh dates, raw almond butter, cantaloupe, and some others I can't think of right now, knowing that at some point I will have a desire for these things and they are there. I am not drawn to grains at all except I discovered organic brown rice spaghetti products..I had tried the corn and it tasted awful, was mushy and quite a disappointment..It was my doctor who told me of the brown rice pastas and I thought it would be the same. Before I went on this lifestyle I loved pasta....however it was bad for me who did not exercise then, was fatigued etc and I would immediate fall asleep after any pasta, bread, wheat etc.
So I tried the brown rice pasta, after getting over the shock of the price, and it cooked up beautifully. I simply put a little butter spray to hold the garlic powder and Mediterranean sea salt and voila! a delicious dish to fill me up when I am low on carbohydrates and feel I need them...the first time I had a huge bowl and then sat down to wait for me to fall asleep....I never did! It works differently in the system in that it does metabolize slowly not creating insulin and the benefits of all the vitamins/minerals in brown rice are available for absorption, something not in white wheat pastas.
So, it is something I enjoy when my body is low in carbohydrates as I walk/jog,bike ride a lot now that the weather is so nice. I used to steam some red potatoes but I read they were loaded with sugar and I do get sleepy and I lose the nutrients due to steaming. I believe I get the nutrients from the brown rice pasta and NEVER have fallen asleep again since I have been using it...
Like you, I find I am eating less and more choosy about what I care to eat when I am slightly hungry. I find it such a blessing to have this energy and feeling of life pulsating through me now....I am so grateful to really know the power of food in healing ourselves, along with the urine therapy and distilled water...I enjoyed the video on coconut water very much. I should have said in my last post that I add frozen whole strawberries to coconut milk because I cannot bear to put the delicious fresh strawberries into the milk because they are just so good eating plain! My taste buds are now acclamated to fresh, natural foods and there is no way I could ever go back to cooking because I really get it that most of the nutrition is gone and how did I survive my whole life the way I was eating...well I guess that is what happened in a way because I ended up just surviving because of ignorance and how I was brought up...not to blame my parents but they were brought up the same and that is all they knew.
I must get out for my noon walk now....loved your post and hope you are having a fine day...I am...........
Much Love,
Liberti
