Back in the late 70s when in college and learned of nuclear power plants I thought the whole idea insane given how dangerous the waste products are and how long they last. The sad truth of the matter is that the secret government already had the Tesla technology and free energy which should have been made available to humanity. Here we are 40 years later dealing with major ecological disasters, one after the other, all due to the short-sightedness of those who promoted nuclear energy and those who financially benefitted. How does one approach this type of mega problem and have a successful outcome. One thing we all know for sure. Not easily.

It is another finite energy just like coal and gas and oil. The after effects of the power production will be around for the next two or three thousand years which will be a thousand or so years long after they have mined the last of the uranium. Even if they did not have the "secret energy" from the "secret space program" the government should have pushed advances in solar, wind, and batteries much more than they did. Jimmy Carter was right and there is no politician who is willing to stand up and say so.
