It occurred to me that time is an illusion. My senses conspire to perpetuate this illusion. The apparent forward progression of time is based only on sensory inputs interpreted by 'me'.
I realize that there is only one "time"...the now. All else exists as memory or imagination. I've also realized that I have the opportunity to choose how I wish to perceive this illusion 'moment to moment'.
Given that power...what else could I be...but God?

Have my senses conspired to delude me? or am I a raving nut-job? Blink

The Mind and the Nature of Mind

The still revolutionary insight of Buddhism is that life and death are in the mind, and nowhere else. Mind is revealed as the universal basis of experience as the creator of happiness and the creator of suffering, the creator of what we call life and what we call death.

There are many aspects to the mind, but two stand out. The first is the ordinary mind, called by the Tibetans sem. One master defines it: "That which possesses discriminating awareness, that which possesses a sense of duality , that which grasps or rejects something external that that is mind. Fundamentally it is that which can associate with an 'other' and with any 'something,' that is perceived as different from the perceiver." (2) Sem is the discursive, dualistic, thinking mind, which can only function in relation to a projected and falsely perceived external reference point.

So sem is the mind that thinks, plots, desires, manipulates, that flares up in anger, that creates and indulges in waves of negative emotion and thoughts, that has to go on and on asserting, validating, and confirming its "existence" by fragmenting, conceptualizing, and solidifying experience. The ordinary mind is the ceaselessly shifting and shiftless prey of external influences, habitual tendencies, and conditioning: The masters liken sem to a candle flame in an open doorway, vulnerable to all the winds of circumstance.
Seen from one angle, sem is flickering, unstable, grasping, and endlessly minding others' business; its energy consumed by projecting outwards. I think of it sometimes as a Mexican jumping bean, or as a monkey hopping restlessly from branch to branch on a tree. Yet seen in another way, the ordinary mind has a false, dull stability, a smug and self-protective inertia, a stone-like calm of ingrained habits. Sem is as cunning as a crooked politician, skeptical, distrustful, expert at trickery and guile, "ingenious," Jamyang Khyentse wrote, " in the games of deception." It is within the experience of this chaotic, confused, undisciplined, and repetitive sem, this ordinary mind, that, again and again, we undergo change and death.

Then there is the very nature of mind, its innermost essence, which is absolutely and always untouched by change or death. At present it is hidden within our own mind, our sem, enveloped and obscured by the mental scurry of our thoughts and emotions. Just as clouds can be shifted by a strong gust of wind to reveal the shining sun and wide-open sky, so, under certain special circumstances, some inspiration may uncover for us glimpses of this nature of mind. These glimpses have many depths and degrees, but each of them will bring some light of understanding, meaning, and freedom. This is because the nature of mind is the very root itself of understanding. In Tibetan we call it Rigpa, a primordial, pure, pristine awareness that is at once intelligent, cognizant, radiant, and always awake. It could be said to be the knowledge of knowledge itself. (3)
Do not make the mistake of imagining that the nature of mind is exclusive to our mind only. It is in fact the nature of everything. It can never be said too often that to realize the nature of mind is to realize the nature of all things.

Saints and mystics throughout history have adorned their realizations with different names and given them different faces and interpretations, but what they are all fundamentally experiencing is the essential nature of the mind. Christians and Jews call it "God"; Hindus call it "the Self," "Shiva," "Brahman," and "Vishnu"; Sufi mystics call it "the Hidden Essence"; and Buddhists call it "buddha nature." At the heart of all religions is the certainty that there is a fundamental truth, and that this life is a sacred opportunity to evolve and realize it.

When we say Buddha, we naturally think of the Indian prince Gautama Siddharta, who reached enlightenment in the sixth century B.C., and who taught the spiritual path followed by millions all over Asia, known today as Buddhism. Buddha, however, has a much deeper meaning. It means a person, any person, who has completely awakened from ignorance and opened his or her vast potential of wisdom. A Buddha is one who has brought a final end to suffering and frustration, and discovered a lasting and deathless happiness and peace.

But for many of us in this skeptical age, this state may seem like a fantasy or a dream, or an achievement far beyond our reach. It is important to remember always that Buddha was a human being, like you or me. He never claimed divinity, he merely knew he had the buddha nature, the seed of enlightenment, and that everyone else did too. The buddha nature is simply the birthright of every sentient being, and I always say, "Our buddha nature is as good as any buddha's buddha nature." This is the good news that the Buddha brought us from his enlightenment in Bodhgaya, and which many people find so inspiring. His message " that enlightenment is within the reach of all " holds out tremendous hope. Through practice, we too can all become awakened. If this were not true, countless individuals down to the present day would not have become enlightened.
It is said that when Buddha attained enlightenment, all he wanted to do was to show the rest of us the nature of mind and share completely what he had realized. But he also saw, with the sorrow of infinite compassion, how difficult it would be for us to understand.

For even though we have the same inner nature as Buddha, we have not recognized it because it is so enclosed and wrapped up in our individual ordinary minds. Imagine an empty vase. The space inside is exactly the same as the space outside. Only the fragile walls of the vase separate one from the other. Our buddha mind is enclosed within the walls of our ordinary mind. But when we become enlightened, it is as if that vase shatters into pieces. The space "inside" merges instantly into the space "outside." They become one: There and then we realize they were never separate or different; they were always the same.

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Sogyal Rinpoche, 10th anniversary edition, revised and updated, p. 47-49: excerpts from Chapter Four, the "Nature of Mind", paragraph "The Mind and the Nature of Mind".

In each moment we have the potential to be present, or to miss it. If we miss the moment, we never get it back, and when it happened we were essentially dead. Along the journey of evolution, we seemed to picked up the habit of not living in the moment, spending time either in the past, as memories, or in the future, as planning.

Memories and planning are useful, they are like reference books, allowing us to make sure the right words or details are contained. But we must move out from the books, and engage in the current moment. Regardless of what that moment may be, it is reality, and by living in reality, or the moment, we have access to unlimited choice, and unlimited learning potential.

If we are in the reference system, we live on auto pilot, making the same choice and mistakes, essentially our human nature is gone, and we become machines. We develop habits, that grow in strength, and take away our freedom of choice, creativity- two qualities that make humans so special. The reference system of memory and thought seem so real.

We have these mental conversations in our head with people, playing out scenarios about what he or she says. We feel the emotion and conviction of the conversation, but it's all a hallucination, there is no one there. How we are considered sane when doing this remains a mystery to me.

In the same place as the mental conversations, we store memories and pictures, linking emotions such as happiness and anger to the events. We replay our favourite stories to invoke certain emotion at will. We become trapped in a land of fantasy, requiring constant access to the stories to sustain our mood. And as this is taking place, we continue to miss reality, we miss the moments of our life, trading them in for memories that we manipulate and create to our liking.

When we let go of these mental stories and conversations we regain access to the world, we gain access to reality. Our lives become enriched, we experience more, hear more, see more, taste more, all our sense come alive, with friendships becoming alive. Life takes on a dynamic nature, we become empowered with and by Choice and Change. What comes up begins to matter less, regardless of the content we can weather any storm, knowing all will pass, leaving the sky unstained.

We begin to really do what we want to do, we begin to leap, knowing that the net will appear, that we will be safe, and will not only survive but learn and flourish from the experience, regardless. Wisdom is developed, our world understand grows, not from a book point of view but through our direct experience. We begin to breathe lighter and easier, the stories loose their grip, and as a result, we gain stability and ease in the world.

In each moment we have access to this life, we have access to live. This all hit home in the evening gatha that was sung as the last thing before going to bed each night in the monastery.

    Here and Now

“Our ascension”, as I learned on the other side,
    from the Gaia perspective,
Is a very natural evolution of dense being into more subtle being.

Already at the quantum level the human body is so very subtle.
    No two atoms even touch.
We are more spirit than flesh, always have been,
    Always will be.

The distance from the outside of an atom to the inside of an atom
Is the same distance as from here to forever.

The journey from the outside to the inside,
From the inside to the outside,
From anywhere to here is an impossible journey
that happens everyday in everything, everywhere.

There is no beginning or end to our journey.
Life did not begin here nor does it end here.
We have already been Alive Forever.

    Let’s open our Eye.

The journey is not linear or time restricted.
Dive in when and where you choose.

    2012
    Why wait?

The end of time/space illusion is near.
    How near?
    Is Now a Good Time?

The Past, Present and Future come together Now.

Lamuria is now, Atlantis is now, even the unimagined Future is now.
We are all here together, right now!

The next epoch of consciousness/history is the Knowing of Now.

Time stops in the here and now.

Maybe there never was a Past
    Maybe there is no Future

    Listen to your teachers
    It is always now
It Always was now , it always will be now
The only time you have is now

    The ever brilliantly expanding now

Is the universe expanding or is our consciousness expanding?
Who is to say, if not you, our sweet self?

There is no other self but the self
    Inner, outer, you, me, them
There is no self but the self
    Micro, macro, mumbo Jumbo

Let the infant intellect Split hairs to infinity
And you still end up here and now!

    Be joyful for
We have never died and we are only waking up!

Mind loves to contemplate and complicate.

    We are not mind.

In simplicity enlightenment (freedom from ignorance) is our natural
state. Remove ego and true self stands out illuminated.
Once all thats is not God is remove from self the oneness which is God
    is revealed -- God realization.

The sages who experience and live in this sate have existed since time
    began,
Not one sage is of any religion.
How could God manifest as a sage be of any religion?

Nothing to do with New age, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, or
anything other than the realization of SELF.

What is there to talk about?????

Discussion on this subject is irrelevant.
    Truth is not my truth.
    Truth is not debatable
    Truth is not negotiable
Truth is not subject to opinion.
Truth is God Eternal unchanging Pure LOVE.

    Everything else is story telling.

    Love Chris.

I -- Me didnt write this.
I channeled internally from my Higherself.

Ps this is a bit in your face but its so ????

    Being technical,
Discussion on within the statement I have made is irrelevant because truth is not negotiable.
that is all part of the statement.
Comment on whether the total statement is right or otherwise is welcome.
How do I know if the statement right? It was just given to me.
    Im not explaining very well.

Anyway its nice to have a garland Mudra.
The feminine within me is very comfortable with such a present as is the male.
