This Wearable Gadget Translates Foreign Languages In Real Time
An incredible piece of wearable tech that translates speech in different languages in real-time is now available for pre-order.
The Pilot, made by New York-based company Waverly Labs, is an earpiece worn by each person and live translates to allow people to communicate smoothly despite language barriers.
The gadget currently translates English, French, Spanish and Italian and promises to soon offer languages like Hindi, Arabic, Slavic and more.
It’s claimed to be the first “smart earpiece” and is said to have been dreamed up by Waverly Labs founder Andrew Ochoa after “meeting a French girl”.
As the product is in its early stages, the technology isn’t totally clear yet, but it’s thought the Pilot uses an app to live translate with minimal delay.
It’s also designed to work offline, so chatty travellers won’y incur data charges when abroad.
