Which he chose to be for a while, living in the wild anyway. He knew of the way elephants show the way to each other and he drew a circle in the sand, making an arrow pointing one way and another one pointing the other way, trying to convey his decision to leave the elephant.
He pointed to himself and an arrow, then pointed to the elephant and the other arrow.
The elephant simply wiped out the other arrow......

Tips I Learned from My Dog

I have been Kaina’s human for a couple of years now, and she has been my dog. At about 80 pounds, she is a black and tan Catahoula Leopard Dog — and though many people (Yankees at least) haven’t usually heard of them, they are considered the first post-colonial dog breed of N. America, being a mix of the native village dogs and European war dogs. I dubbed her “Kaina” in celebration of her species scientific name — Canis lupus familiaris — and as a reminder of our two species unique and longstanding kinship.
As you can imagine, over these last two years she and I have taught each other many things, and some of the lessons she has imparted to me are starting to take hold. Here are a few that might remind you of your own relationship with a Canis lupus familiaris, and may even be of value to your own health and wellbeing.

Speaking of elephants ...
Coskun Cokbulan posted a dream on facebook he had last night
Last night I made a surreal but fabulous dream: I was taking photos for a mountain (like Machu Picchu in South America?), suddenly, a big group of Animals FLYING to the sky above me! A huge ELEPHANT leading other animals, monkeys, sheeps, goats, dogs, cats.... They were all Flying slowly & gracefully in a circle in front of my (dreaming) eyes! I was fascinated & excitedly took many photos!!! A dog even lowered his flying to kiss my fingers, then a sheep followed to do the same... Wow, what a dream!!!
